Lundeen Productions presents the 17th Annual Senior Expo, now called the GO Show, Tuesday, October 22nd at the Duluth Entertainment and Convention Center.
Earlier this year the event was rebranded. “GO is an acronym for Getting Older” said Tracy Lundeen, producer, of the new name. “Today’s seniors are getting older but still going at a rapid pace. They work, go on trips and adventures, hangout with the grandkids, serve their communities and so much more. Many people in their 60’s and into their 70’s do not like the label senior or senior citizen hence the GO generation! Getting Older but still going”.
The expo will feature a day of information and fun including over 100 exhibitors with information on healthcare, insurance, living options, travel, financial planning, recreation, and travel. There will be presentations by the Silver Sneakers and music performances throughout the day.
The focus will be on the older crowd early on before skewing toward the younger GO attendees in the afternoon. Crowd favorites the Chmielewski Funtime Band will return for a 9:30AM performance and the expo will host the annual “Celebration of Centenarians,” recognizing area 100 year olds presented by the City of Duluth Senior Programs at 10AM. Rickey Lee will take the stage at 11AM follow by John Seguin at noon. Also at noon, Lake Superior Brewing will be sampling craft beer and root beer made in Duluth.
Attendees will be excited to find more prizes at the GO Show this year, including a Grand Prize getaway for two to Roseville, complete with overnight accommodations at the Country Inn and Suites, a gift card for the Roseville Center, dinner and a private tour of Summit Brewing courtesy of the Roseville Visitors Association!
GO Show hours are 9AM to 2PM. Free tickets will be available beginning in late August at area Walgreen Pharmacies and exhibitor locations.
